Watch replays of the Iowa Education Summit sessions

The Iowa Education Summit was held in Des Moines on July 25-26  to discuss the future of education in Iowa. Iowa Public Television (IPTV) will be airing broadcasts of the highlights on Sunday, August 7 at the following times:

  • 9:00 a.m. – U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, who has called education “the most pressing issue facing America,” discusses the future of education in his keynote speech at the Iowa Summit:  or view IPTV online video
  • 10:00 a.m. – Former Governor of North Carolina, Jim Hunt., talks about why school reform must be systemic: or view IPTV online video
  • 11:00 a.m. – Linda Darling Hammond, Professor of Education at Stanford University, talks about what supports effective teaching: or view IPTV online video
  • 12:00 p.m. – Dr. David Driscoll, Chair of the National Assessment Governing Board speaks about how Massachusetts became the top education state and the next steps for the U.S. to be globally competitive: or view IPTV online video

The Iowa Department of Education’s EduVision website has more videos available from the Iowa Education Summit and plan to have all the videos available by August 15. Visit EduVision and select “Iowa Ed Summit” to view these videos.
