BCLUW High School in Conrad was one of 56 schools nationwide chosen this year to receive the Apple Inc. Distinguished School Award. Apple gives the award to schools that are transforming learning for the 21st century.
The BCLUW Community School District began a laptop program in the fall of 2009 that provides a 1:1 learning environment for students in grades 9-12. Each student receives a MacBook computer that gives them access to multiple online resources and applications.
Professional development has been a key element in the success of the 1:1 initiative. Some of the training the teachers received included Apple training, Google courses provided by the AEA, and conferences. Teachers also spent time on their own, learning how to successfully use laptop technology to provide their students with the best learning opportunities. The success of this program has been a result of families, students and educators working together and using technology to fulfill their mission of “Providing a learning environment for educational excellence and motivation to continue a lifetime of learning.”
Congratulations! We are proud to support you in your success!
