Mason City teacher selected to attend Mickelson ExxonMobil Science Academy

Ashley Flatebo, science teacher at Lincoln Intermediate in Mason City, has been selected to attend the Mickelson ExxonMobil Science Academy this summer. Ashley has been an active participant in many Area Education Agency 267 (AEA 267) sponsored teacher professional development opportunities and has proven herself as a leader in science education.

Each summer, 600 third- through fifth-grade teachers from school districts across the country attend the academy. The Academy offers a five-day program, with camps in New Jersey, Texas and Louisiana, designed to provide third- through fifth-grade teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to motivate students to pursue careers in science and math.

Congratulation, Ashley!
