Two new online learning opportunities are available on the AEA 267 English Language Arts website. Self-paced podcast modules have been created for use by individuals, small groups, or school-level teams. The two modules include:
- Power Writing, a process to increase student speed and stamina for on-demand writing
- Questioning to Elicit Higher-Order Thinking, a look at new expectations from the Iowa Core for text-based questioning and higher-order responses from students
Each module includes a recorded podcast and a series of activities to allow for reflection, practice, and planning around new ideas and strategies.
Each podcast training takes three to four hours, depending on the size of the group. They can be broken into a series of shorter sessions for convenience of use—simply watch part of the podcast and do the accompanying activities, stopping when time requires. At the next session, pick up where you left off.
